In March 2006, a shocking story emerged from a Chinese nurse named Anne, who had fled China. She reported that up to 4,000 Falun Gong practitioners had been killed for their organs at the hospital where she worked.
Her ex-husband, a surgeon at the same hospital near Shenyang in northeastern China, confessed to her that he personally removed corneas from more than 2,000 living Falun Gong practitioners over a period of two years. Those Falun Gong practitioners’ other organs were subsequently harvested by other doctors. After their organs were harvested, some of those practitioners, not yet deceased, were directly thrown into a crematorium converted from a boiler room and cremated alive.
By the time she left the hospital in 2004, the 4,000-plus Falun Gong practitioners in the basement had almost all been subjected to forced organ harvesting.

One week later, a Chinese military doctor corroborated Anne’s accounts and reported such atrocities were occurring in 36 different concentration camps throughout the country. Starting in 2006, prominent Canadian human rights lawyer David Matas and the former Canadian Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific, David Kilgour, launched extensive investigations into these allegations. They made phone calls to Chinese hospitals, pretending to be potencial buyers of kidneys or livers, and specifically requested organs from Falun Gong practitioners, citing their good quality due to their healthy lifestyles (not smoking or drinking). To their horror, one doctor after another openly confirmed, “We’ve got Falun Gong in stock. Just come in and we can get you the organ within a week.”

There has been an “organ tourism boom” in China since 1999. Patients from around the world who need organ transplants have been traveling to China to receive transplant surgeries.

In the 1990s, Falun Gong, lauded for its miraculous healing and health benefits, attracted over 100 million practitioners in just a few years. Jiang Zemin, the then CCP leader, was struck by the rapid growth of Falun Gong. Furthermore, Falun Gong practitioners had spread throughout all levels of government, even to the military and military commanders. The CCP, which is historically against God and the divines, advocates “deception, evil, and violence,” could not possibly allow such a completely opposite ideologies as the Buddhist school practice of “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance” to exist and flourish within the party.

At the beginning of the persecution in 1999, in order to label Falun Gong as a cult, then–CCP leader Jiang Zemin ordered officials to quickly produce materials “with sufficient factual evidence” against Falun Gong—including prominent cases of schizophrenia, suicide, and other such incidents. As a result, the so-called “1,400 Death Cases,” used to slander and demonize Falun Gong, were fabricated in the following ways: attributing accidents involving people with mental illness to Falun Gong; coercing murderers to pose as Falun Gong practitioners in exchange for reduced sentences; enticing critically ill patients to pretend to be Falun Gong practitioners by offering to cover their medical expenses; and claiming that ordinary people’s natural deaths were caused by practicing Falun Gong.
A Brief Introduction to Falun Dafa
Falun Dafa practice consists of two parts: physical and spiritual. The spiritual practice based on the teachings of the Buddhist School. It teaches practitioners to cultivate their minds and hearts, purify their souls, and improve their morality according to the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. It encourages practitioners to let go of unhealthy attachments and strive to attune their thoughts and behaviors with this core principle. Falun Dafa’s spiritual teachings are found in the main book, Zhuan Falu and many of Master Li Hongzhi’s lectures.
